BBB CEO Announces Retirement
|To all of our BBB Accredited Businesses and Charities:
It has been my pleasure to serve as your CEO for Better Business Bureau serving
Northern Colorado and Wyoming for the last 25 years. I will be retiring effective September 2.
Together we have been able to achieve many successes in the name of marketplace trust. Just think, the internet did not even exist when I first came on board! However, through our digital marketing efforts today we drive more than 10 million customers and donors to our BBB Business and Charity profiles each month. Our footprint in our region of trustworthy companies and charities has grown from 1,700 to nearly 4,100.
We’ve created robust programming to recognize marketplace role models as well as calling out the bad actors in our area. Our charity accreditation program is now a very visible and coveted badge that donors look to when making a giving decision. And, our efforts to reach the servicemembers in our area to present fraud and scam prevention information has reached an all-time high. This year our team was in front of over 12,000 people to promote trust and ethics in the marketplace. Additionally, we are excited to announce our new community center that all Accredited Businesses and Charities may use for your professional growth and planning meetings.
It has been a tremendous experience and honor for me to represent you in the name of trust and ethics. As I move on to the next phase of my journey, I am pleased to announce that my replacement will be Shelley Polansky, our VP of Marketing and Communications. She has been with BBB for 11 years. Her strengths of being an achiever and maximizer, as well as her ability to be futuristic and strategic will enable her to contribute a great deal to our organization. She will represent you well in the coming years as we continue to strive to be the leader in advancing marketplace trust!
I thank our Board of Directors, Foundation Advisory Board and regional Boards of Advisors for all of the counsel and leadership you have provided over the years. And, to our BBB team, I couldn’t have asked for a more talented, dedicated and inspirational group of people to work with. I can assure all of you that you are being left in phenomenal hands!
