Walk to End Alzheimer’s is World’s Largest Event Dedicated to Alzheimer’s Care, Support and Research The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on Saturday, September 21st at The Gaslight Social. Nearly 200 people from the area expected at this year’s event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease. On Walk day, participants will honor those affected by Alzheimer's disease with Promise Flowers during the poignant Promise Garden Ceremony – a moving display of hope to represent the personal reasons participants join together to fight Alzheimer’s. More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease – the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 16 million family members and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In Wyoming alone, there are more than 10,000 people living with the disease and 18,000 caregivers. Participants can join a team or register to walk as an individual at act.alz.org/Casper. Jay Allen's song speaks to the struggles as a child of a parent suffering with this disease and pays tribute to all those impacted.
