On Tuesday, November 28, Wyoming Food for Thought Project will be hosting a Treat Yo’self Tuesday event to celebrate the #GivingTuesday movement. This is a “non-event fundraiser” and does not require donors to go to an actual event. Members of the community are invited to “attend” the event by donating to the organization and spending an evening treating themselves. Money, time, skills, and food will all be graciously accepted as donations. All donations will stay local and will help support the organization’s Weekend Food Bag Program, community gardens, and Mobile Market Project. You can find the event page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/2003976979619113/ #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. It is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support. You can learn more about the movement at www.givingtuesday.org. Wyoming Food for Thought Project is a nonprofit organization that seeks a local solution to hunger in the Natrona County area. One of its main programs is the Weekend Food Bag Program that feeds over 600 children in Natrona County each weekend and over holiday breaks. The program runs year-round and was established to provide children in need with at least three kid-friendly meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) as well as various snacks and other additions, such as bagels, fresh produce, or bread for every day they are out of school and away from its hunger safety net.
