County Emergency Managers and UW Extension are asking
producers and other citizens to work with them and other
agencies to both train for responding to agriculture-based disasters.
Participants will learn basic disaster response guidelines,
animal handling techniques, use of emergency livestock
equipment, radio protocols, livestock evacuation, livestock
sheltering, and damage appraisal guidelines used by the USDA
and FEMA. Meet and learn from the experts on how to work
with county officials. The seminar includes FEMA certified exercises
for emergency responders.
