The Children’s Advocacy Project would like to invite the community to their building at 350 N. Ash Street on Wednesday, April 19th at 4:00 p.m. to help plant pinwheels for prevention. In an effort to raise awareness about child abuse, the Children’s Advocacy Project will create a pinwheel garden in which there will be one pinwheel planted for every child victim of abuse and maltreatment we served in 2016 -- 307 children, 307 pinwheels! We are hoping this will serve as a visual reminder of the abuse toward children that continues to occur in our own community. Can’t attend? We encourage you to plant a pinwheel in front of your home or business as a way of honoring those who helped you or your children experience a childhood without abuse and neglect. Come down and help us plant a pinwheel and enjoy beverages and cookies! About the Children’s Advocacy Project Founded in 2002, the Children’s Advocacy Project works with a team of agencies to provide forensic and comprehensive services for alleged victims of child abuse in order to minimize trauma to children, to break the cycle of abuse, and to foster a more effective community response to child maltreatment throughout the state and surrounding areas.
