A community discussion and reception on dementia will be held on Wednesday, November 7 at 6 p.m. at the Natrona County Library. Kyle Page, PhD, ABPP, will give a presentation titled, "When Dementia Comes to Dinner: Acknowledging the Changes, Fears and Pursuing Positive Aging" followed by a panel discussion comprised of Kyle Page, PhD, ABPP; David Wheeler, MD; Neil Short, Certified Trainer; and Scott Soulek, RPH. Dr. Kyle Page is a board-certified geriatric psychologist who focuses on improving dementia care skills for healthcare providers and families. He earned his PhD from the University of North Texas and completed a fellowship in clinical geropsychologyat the VA Boston Healthcare System. Formally from the Cheyenne VA Medical Center, Dr. Page currently works on a secured dementia unit at the Central IowaVAhospital and serves as a national VA training consultant, helping other VA nursing home units in implementing a dementia behavior management program. His clinical focus is on dementia behavior management, staff training, and evaluating decision-making abilities in older adults. His research interests and publications span various areas of geriatric mental health, including fear of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
