The Nicolaysen Art Museum will be hosting their 2nd annual Day of the Dead Celebration and Art Show on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 5:30 to 8:00pm. Tickets are $5.00 at the door. All ages are welcomed! The Day of the Dead Celebration and Art Show is presented by Sarah Peek-Elston and Maria Rose Wimmer in partnership with Hill Music and the Nicolaysen Art Museum. The event will be featuring food by Qdoba and The Arepa Barn; Music by SalsaGrass; Dance performance by the Casper College Flight Company; Lectures by Erica Kinshella (5:45pm), Eric Atkins (6:15pm) and Ruth Mena (6:40pm); Student altars from Kelly Walsh, NCHS, and Park Elementary; and, Art from The NIC Art Lab students.
The Nicolaysen Art Museum is proud to present their first Affordable Arts Festival at the NIC Sale. This is a great way to begin the holiday shopping season! For this show, all participating artists will be selling only art that is priced at $100 or less. Held inside the beautiful Nicolaysen Art Museum, the show will begin during the monthly Casper Downtown Art Walk on Thursday evening, December 1st and will continue through Saturday, December 3rd (12/1: 5-8pm, 12/2: 12-7pm, 12/3: 10-4pm). While it may be cold outside, the atmosphere inside will be festive as we welcome holiday shoppers to enjoy browsing and finding unique affordable gifts for those on their lists, or even for themselves!
The NIC is dedicated to serving Casper and the surrounding communities. “Be The Cultural Anchor” is their vision and they believe art is what makes us human.
