Come to The NIC on Friday, November 2nd from 5:30pm to 7:30pm for a celebration of life! Day of the Dead is sponsored by Casper College and is a partnership with the Spanish Dual Language Immersion program at Park Elementary. There will be a community altar where you are invited to bring your own offerings to leave in tribute to friends or family who have departed. In previous years, people have left photos, names, playing cards, feathers, etc. In addition to the community altar, there will be individual and group altars, food and beverages available for purchase, free crafts for kids in our Discovery Center, and open mic performances by local students. The community is welcomed to participate as well. Please contact Jenniey Elliott for more information at jenniey@thenic.org.
We'll be offering traditional Mexican food by Don Juan to purchase during our Day of the Dead celebration! Come as you are or in full costume and face to participate in our Day of the Dead make-up contest (youth and adult categories)! This event is free to members and $5 per non-member. Thank you to the teachers and students at Kelly Walsh, NCHS, Dean Morgan, and CY for alters and added entertainment!
