Chinese New Year Celebration February 17, 2026 5:30–7:00 PM Free program Celebrate Chinese New Year at The Nicolaysen Art Museum with an evening of culture, creativity, and exploration. Enjoy spring rolls from Full House Chinese Restaurant, red envelopes, and hands-on Discovery Center activities inspired by the Year of the Horse. Featured Presentation The Tiangong Space Station: A Look at China’s Heavenly Palace Presented by Dr. Drew Young China’s space program has made major advances over the past two decades, from landing spacecraft on the Moon and Mars to launching human space flight missions. This presentation explores China’s most recent milestone, the Tiangong Space Station, often described as a Palace in the Sky, and its development as China’s counterpart to the International Space Station. Presentation length: approximately 20–25 minutes Discovery Center activities will be available throughout the evening, making this a family friendly program for all ages.
